How we started:

A teaching foundation with Real Estate and Construction experience.

Television Education, Inc. was founded by the late Frank D. Corbett. Originally a credentialed high school math and blueprint reading teacher, Frank went on to work as a licensed real estate and insurance broker before obtaining his contractor's license and starting a highly successful general engineering and building construction firm.

After retiring, Frank and his wife Anne, also a credentialed teacher, opened a license exam prep school at the Sacramento Builders Exchange. The success of the school and its training programs led to other schools offering to purchase their curriculum. In 1975, Television Education, Inc., was incorporated and began publishing educational videos, manuals, and practice tests.

Jonathan Corbett, MBA, succeeded Frank as our CEO in 1988. Like Frank, Jonathan acquired several state licenses including real estate broker, insurance broker, and general building contractor.

Our current CEO Victoria Kruse served in various capacities, including business manager, during the past 30 years. Victoria monitors regulations and rules adopted by licensing agencies and supervises our team of writers, researchers, editors, graphic artists, video producers, and instructors.

Other 30+ year employees include instructors Bruce Ponce, MS, and Bill Redican, PhD. Bruce is a licensed General Building, Plumbing, and Electrical Contractor. Bill is a licensed Real Estate Agent and certified ICC B1 Residential Building Inspector.

Television Education, Inc., has been in business for 46 years and continues to produce the most comprehensive and innovative courses for California license exam prep schools.
